BHP signs lease on new Adelaide office

10.04.2018

BHP has signed an agreement for a long-term lease with naming rights for the GPO Exchange building currently under construction in the Adelaide CBD.

Olympic Dam Asset President, Jacqui McGill, joined South Australian Premier Steven Marshall and building developer Charter Hall’s Head of Office Development Andrew Borger at the site today.

Ms McGill said: ‘Olympic Dam is a multigenerational operation and we are proud that our project has been an important part of the South Australian community and the state economy for 30 years.’

‘BHP is very pleased to have secured a position in an iconic location in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, and we look forward to seeing the BHP logo on the city skyline.
‘As has been the case with our office premises in Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, this new space will feature state-of-the-art technology and include a modern design that supports BHP’s diverse, inclusive and flexible work culture.’

The 10-year lease covers approximately 10,000 square metres in the A-grade commercial office tower building, which will take a prominent position overlooking the iconic GPO building and Victoria Square / Tarndanyangga.

BHP will continue to operate from Grenfell Street in Adelaide until construction on the GPO Exchange building has been completed, currently forecast for the third quarter of calendar-year 2019.
